A gong bath is an immersive sound experience
It's called a 'bath' because sound waves bathe you as relax. All that is required of the person attending a gong bath is to be warm and comfortable so they can relax. The listener only has to let go and allow the sound of the gong do the work.
Modern-day science has proven that all matter consists of energetic vibrations or waveforms, and that all waveforms produce sound even if we can't hear them. All matter vibrates and the human body is no different. The physical sound vibration of the gong provides a potentially harmonising and powerful vehicle for meditation & transformation.
During peaceful states of the mind, which are typically achieved during meditative phases, the body’s natural healing process is profoundly supported.
The sound and resulting vibrations generated by the gongs and other sound instruments such as singing bowls, stimulate the theta brain frequencies that are commonly associated with deeper states of meditation. Heart and respiratory rates slow down, tapping into the parasympathetic nervous system or rest and digest mode and into a place where the body is more able to heal itself.
Places are limited and booking in advance is essential.
The sound bath is for 1 hour class followed by tea/coffee and cake. Class fees are £25.00 per person.

Yin Yoga is a meditative practice targeting connective tissues, ligaments & joints it is a simple, quiet practice about finding stillness, cooling & stretching the body & calming the mind.
Our bodies are made up of Yin & Yang tissues. We need the combination of Yin & Yang to keep the joints healthy.
Yin generally targets the tissues of the hips, pelvis & lower spine areas that commonly tend to retain tension in our bodies. Many poses are seated or reclined.
Longer, static holds enable us to access Yin tissue. Yin practice can be very meditative due to the longer holds. Poses are held for around 5 minutes.
Yin can be deeply healing & nourishing; grounding, calming & revitalising, with profound energetic & emotional effects.
Restorative is a form of yoga that seeks to achieve mental, physical & emotional relaxation. Postures are all seated or reclined and supported with bolsters & props.
During a restorative practice the body is fully supported to provide an environment for total relaxation. Postures are held for up to 20 minutes at a time.
